This workshop is an introduction to the basic techniques of lino printing and mono printing. Two very different approaches in printmaking.
The main characteristic of lino printing is the removal of lines and forms from a smooth surface by carving it with special tools. The printed result is an image that is formed amongst white spaces on the paper. Lino printing also provides the possibility of the creation of multiple artworks each having a different color palette by using special block printing inks.
Mono printing is offering a more vivid result without necessarily have any blank spaces on paper. With the use of oil paints one can reference a picture as inspiration for their work with an easy technique. The final result brings out beautiful prints that carry the proof of the direction of the brushstrokes during the making.
* This workshop is suitable for anyone who is preparing a portfolio for admission to Fine and Applied Arts Universities, for students of relevant disciplines seeking specialization and finally for amateur and professional designers and artists who want to enrich their skills.
