The focus of this workshop is for children to explore the craft of ceramics by experimenting with clay modeling techniques. During these meetings children will learn basic techniques in crafting, decorating, glazing and firing. Throughout the process participants will cultivate their creativity and imagination as well as their composition abilities by exploring tasks and inventing solutions to create their ideas. Furthermore, working with clay boosts children’s confidence through self-expression, enhances collaborative work, and aids in the development of motor skills and concentration.

A few words about the tutor:
Marianna Tserkezou was born in Nicosia Cyprus. She graduated from the University of Cyprus with a Degree in Primary teaching, followed by a Master’s degree in Information Education Technology in Birmingham, and an MBA degree in the Mediterranean Institute of Management. She started learning ceramics in 2015 in Cyprus with ceramist Vassos Demetriou and attended seminars and education programs in in Torino, Tuscany, and Faenza, Italy.
Marianna’s main focus in education in children and the means for transferring knowledge self-confidence beyond traditional mediums. Creativity aims to help in focus, patience, experimenting with solutions and trusting in the process of achieving.
