SUMMARY:> New Media Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The new series of workshops at Art Hub revolves around artistic expression using New Media. What is New Media? Is it the tool of a digital work or a new way of embracing Art?\nThe course approaches concepts such as those of time\, spatial design and movement while introducing the basic principles of synthesis of the static image and digital editing.\nThe course is divided into two parts (theory and workshops). The first part emphasises on the presentation and analysis of artistic audiovisual works. The second part is focused on hands-on exercises on digital image making\, animation techniques and introducing relevant photo and video processing software\, aiming to develop technical training\, techniques and conceptual idea development.\nThis course is suitable for students preparing a portfolio for Schools of Arts\, Audiovisual\, Multimedia and Animation\, university students of similar disciplines seeking specialization in specific fields\, and finally amateur and professional artists who want to enrich their skillset. \nStefanos Papadas is a graduate of the Ionian University\, Department of Audio and Visual Arts and a scholar of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. He has participated in various group exhibitions and festivals as an individual\, as well as in collaboration with artistic groups in Greece\, Belgium\, Cyprus\, the Netherlands and Mexico. \nWorkshop duration:\nNovember 2018 – April 2019 / Three hour sessions\, once a week

DESCRIPTION:Sculpting the Head and Neck from Life with Yiannis G. Koromias \nJoin us in this unique workshop which will introduce the fundamentals of sculpting a portrait in clay using a live model.\n-What will you learn through this workshop?\nThe workshop will include a step-by-step process of constructing the head in an accurate and anatomically correct manner in clay using academic sculpting methods and techniques. The participants will be guided though demonstrations and individual critiques so as to develop a better understanding of proportions\, depth\, form and contour line in space. Through this methodical process each participant will produce a 3-dimensional clay portrait. Due to the fact that special individual attention will be given to guide participants\, the workshop will cater for interested individuals\, irrespective of their age\, previous knowledge or experience. \n-Who should participate:\nThis workshop is suitable for students preparing a portfolio for Schools of Fine Arts\, university students of similar disciplines seeking specialisation in specific fields and finally\, amateur and professional artists who want to enrich their skillset. \nWorkshop Duration:\nNovember 22 – December 14 / Eight three-hour long sessions \nBio:\nYiannis G. Koromias is a graduate of the Florence Academy of Art in Italy\, with specialisation in Academic Drawing and Painting. He later studied Sculpture at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design\, University of Dundee\, in Scotland. Having developed a particular interest in human anatomy and the special relationship that exists between Figurative Art and Anatomy\, he completed a Human Anatomy Écorché Course in the USA and subsequently earned an MSc degree with Distinction in Craniofacial Identification and Forensic Art at the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification\, University of Dundee. His work is exhibited in Cyprus and the UK\, including Edinburgh University’s Anatomical Museum. See less
