SUMMARY:Academic Drawing – Introduction
Μετά τις σπουδές της στην Εσωτερική Διακόσμηση στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Γλασκόβης\, συγκεντρώθηκε στη μελέτη του κλασσικού ρεαλισμού στη ζωγραφική στη Ακαδημία της Βαρκελώνης.\nΓια περισσότερες πληροφορίες: 22510100 / Facebook PM\n*ΣΗΜΑΝΤΙΚΟ: Περιορισμένες θέσεις διαθέσιμες – Η έγκαιρη προκράτηση θέσης είναι ΑΠΑΡΑΙΤΗΤΗ.\n——————————————————————-\nAcademic Drawing – Introduction \nThe methodology for Classical Drawing is a proven\, step-by-step process\, aiming at the realistic visualization of a subject (still life\, landscape\, portrait\, figure.) Through a series of drawing exercises\, participants study methods for recording a reference in terms of line\, shape\, volume\, cross-contour\, proportion\, light logic\, perspective\, and compositional space. Each class focuses on a theoretical and practical application and its function in drawing.\nThe program includes exercises with a life model for expressive drawing with quick poses and measurement practice with long poses. It will also include studies by referencing classic master’s paintings (master copy) and cast sculptures\, where a three-dimensional form is documented on the two-dimensional space of the paper. Art and theory are combined in order for the participants to reach a level or creative independence.\nThis introduction stands as the first seminar of a series by using linear materials (pencil and charcoal) where the study of measurement of shadow and tonality will lead to the specialization of producing form with varied shades of color on a later stage.\nThe seminar includes:\n– Observational and Still life Drawing\n– Cast Drawing\n– Anatomy Theory\n– Life Drawing using a live model\nThe methodologies the participants will learn to use are:\n– Measurement Techniques\n– Positive and Negative Space\n– Contour lines and Form placing\n– Light and Shadow placement\n– Shaping and building the form\n– Perspective\n– Visual Arts vocabulary use\n– Experimentation with traditional and non-traditional mediums and techniques.\n-Who can participate:\nThis workshop is suitable for students preparing a portfolio for Schools of Fine Arts\, university students of similar disciplines seeking specialization in specific fields and finally\, amateur and professional artists who want to enrich their skillset.\nSchedule:\nEvery Wednesday 18:00-21:00 from 22/03/2023 and Thursday 18:00-21:00 until 29/06/2023\nIn total: 28 3-hour meetings\nThe seminar is led by artist Mikaella Socratous\nMikaella Socratous is a multidisciplinary artist that focuses on classical methods to cultivate surreal narratives. After studying Interior Design at the Glasgow School of Art\, she decided to engage in learning about the craftsmanship of classical realism drawing and painting from the Barcelona Academy of Art. \nFor more information:\n22510100 / Facebook PM\n** IMPORTANT: Limited places available – Early booking is NECESSARY \n  \n

SUMMARY:Printmaking Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is an introduction to the basic techniques of lino printing and mono printing. Two very different approaches in printmaking.\nThe main characteristic of lino printing is the removal of lines and forms from a smooth surface by carving it with special tools. The printed result is an image that is formed amongst white spaces on the paper. Lino printing also provides the possibility of the creation of multiple artworks each having a different color palette by using special block printing inks.\nMono printing is offering a more vivid result without necessarily have any blank spaces on paper. With the use of oil paints one can reference a picture as inspiration for their work with an easy technique. The final result brings out beautiful prints that carry the proof of the direction of the brushstrokes during the making.\n\nFor ages 12 years and above\, teens and adults\n\nDuration of the workshop: 12 hours\nSchedule:\nTuesday 19/07/22 17:00 – 20:00\nWednesday 20/07/22 17:00 – 20:00\nThursday 21/07/22 17:00 – 20:00\nFriday 22/07/22 17:00 – 20:00\n\n* This workshop is suitable for anyone who is preparing a portfolio for admission to Fine and Applied Arts Universities\, for students of relevant disciplines seeking specialization and finally for amateur and professional designers and artists who want to enrich their skills.\n\nFor more information: 22510100 / Facebook PM\n* IMPORTANT: Limited places available – Early booking is NECESSARY.

SUMMARY:> Raku Workshop with Vassos Demetriou
DESCRIPTION:Raku is a Japanese ceramics technique that dates back to the 16th century; ceramic wares are fired for a short period of time and are removed from the kiln the moment they reach their ideal firing temperature. A western variation of the Raku technique is the addition of organic materials on the hot fired ceramics\, creating an intense reduction process that produces specific colors\, textures\, and metallic highlights with the parallel use of copper\, bismuth and silver oxides. The unpredictable and astonishing results of Raku – the blackened smoked clay and the lively colored glazes that are achieved in just a few hours – still draw great attention and enthusiasm. \nLet’s learn this unique technique together\, under the guidance of our master ceramist Vassos Demetriou. \nVassos Demetriou is a graduate of the ceramic art school of the Istituto d’ Arte per la Ceramica – Faenza in Italy and since 1982 he has his own workshop in Larnaca. He specializes in different ceramic techniques such as raku\, stoneware\, terra sigillata\, copper matte raku and clay. \nDuration of workshop: 10 hours \nDates and times:\nSaturday\n12/03/22 16:00 – 20:00\nin Nicosia Archiepiskopoy Kyprianou 32\, 2059\nand\nSunday\n20/03/22 9:00 – 15:00\nin Larnaca Petraki Kyprianou 60\, 6050 \n** IMPORTANT: Limited places available – Early booking is NECESSARY.
Let’s learn this unique technique together\, under the guidance of our master ceramist Vassos Demetriou \nVassos Demetriou is a graduate of the ceramic art school of the Istituto d’ Arte per la Ceramica – Faenza in Italy and since 1982 he has his own workshop in Larnaca. He specializes in different ceramic techniques such as raku\, stoneware\, terra sigillata\, copper matte raku and clay. \nDuration of workshop: 8 hours \nDates and times:\n04/06/21 16:00-20:00\n11/06/21 16:00-20:00 \n** IMPORTANT: Limited places available – Early booking is NECESSARY. SUMMARY:> Introduction to architectural model construction
DESCRIPTION:The architectural model – or maquette – is a key tool for composing and communicating the process of an architectural design. While designs can give information on a two-dimensional level\, the model can express spatial proportions\, qualities and ideas in three-dimensional form. Thus\, the maquette becomes an instrument of communication and compositional process\, helping to resonate spatial qualities\, explaining the main concepts\, as well as the ability to predict possible problems and their resolutions.\nThe construction of an architectural maquette combines artistic expression and technical skills\,which stands not only a mere representation of the idea\, but as a unique creation in itself. The choice of scale\, its construction materials\, the degree of detail it presents\, are just some of the parameters that are defined depending on the purpose of creating the maquette.\nThis workshop is an introduction to the construction of architectural models and its various applications\, scales\, materials and techniques. It will also encourage each participant’s personal expression\, curiosity and ability to source diverse inspirations for the construction and presentation of architectural models.\nThe workshop is suitable for students preparing a portfolio for admission to Schools of Architecture and Interior Design\, for students currently studying in relevant specialties which specialization and finally for amateur and professional designers and artists who want to enrich their skills. \nDelivered by the team of ONAiONA Architecture and Design\, https://www.onaiona.com/ \nWorkshop duration: 24 hours \nProgram:\n– Monday 29/06/20 10.00-13.00\n– Tuesday 30/06/20 10.00-13.00 and 15.00-18.00\n– Wednesday 01/07/20 10.00-13.00\n– Thursday 02/07/20 10.00-13.00 and 15.00-18.00\n– Friday 03/07/20 10.00-13.00 and 15.00-18.00 \n*IMPORTANT NOTE: Limited Participants number – Timely registration in this workshop is NECESSARY.
