DESCRIPTION:The luster glaze technique in ceramics – Experimental workshop \nThis technique was developed in Persia and the Arab countries and has further evolved in Spain and Italy during the middle age. Luster glaze is achieving various metallic reflections in the ceramic glazes\, which are succeeded through an intense oxygen reduction during the cooling of the kiln. \nThe workshop is being guided by Ceramist Vassos Demetriou \nDuration of the workshop: 11 hours \nSchedule of the workshop:\nSaturday 11/12/21 9.00-18.00\nGlazing\, coloring and firing the ceramics. Ceramics for the experimental firing can be provided.\nSaturday 12/12/21 10.00-12.00 \nDiscussion and analysis of the results of the workshop with the theme of ceramics glazes and their chemical alternatives and reactions. \nVasos Demetriou is a graduate of the ceramic art school of the Istituto d’ Arte per la Ceramica – Faenza in Italy and since 1982 he has his own workshop in Larnaca. He specializes in different ceramic techniques such as raku\, stoneware\, terra sigillata\, copper matte raku and clay. \n* IMPORTANT: Limited places available – Early booking is NECESSARY.
