SUMMARY:> Academic Portraiture - Drawing
DESCRIPTION:This Seminar focuses on portraiture drawing using the academic standards of the Florence Academy of Art\, Italy. Through these sessions\, the participants will be taught the fundamental techniques and the relevant anatomical knowledge necessary for the construction of an accurate portrait.\nSpecifically\, the participants will be individually guided through demonstrations and critiques so as to develop a better understanding of:\n• Blocking and Constructive Lines\n• Shadow Line and Shadow Shapes\n• Form and Tones\n• Light Effect \nThe workshop can cater participants of any background or skill level and age\, as the instructor will address each individual’s needs separately.\nIt is nonetheless most valuable to students preparing a portfolio for Schools of Fine Arts\, university students of similar disciplines seeking specialization in specific fields and finally\, amateur and professional artists who want to enrich their skillset. Koromias is a graduate of the Florence Academy of Art in Italy\, with specialisation in Academic Drawing and Painting. He later studied Sculpture at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design\, University of Dundee\, in Scotland. Having developed a particular interest in human anatomy and the special relationship that exists between Figurative Art and Anatomy\, he completed a Human Anatomy Écorché Course in the USA and subsequently earned an MSc degree with Distinction in Craniofacial Identification and Forensic Art at the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification\, University of Dundee. His work is exhibited in Cyprus and the UK\, including Edinburgh University’s Anatomical Museum. \n* IMPORTANT: Limited places available – Early booking is NECESSARY. DESCRIPTION:This workshop is addressing the needs of beginners who want to start editing and creating digitally. The participants will get acquainted with the basic functions and tools of the program\, the correct processing of digital images\, as well as the way to effectively approach a digital visual work.\nThe workshop will also present theoretical and practical examples in simple and understandable language.\nThe topics of the seminar include:\n-Photoshop environment and tools\n-Customization of the work environment\n-Photo/Images editing theory\n-Practical use and image editing\n-What are Layers and how do they work?\n-What are blending modes and how do they improve our work?\n-You will learn what adjustment Layers are and what their use is (safe and non-destructive processing)\n-What are masks and where do they help edit / correct photos?\n-How to easily and quickly crop images\n-Delete unwanted items and trash corrections\n-Add new objects to an existing image\n-Digital Collage / Digital Photography\n-Digital Composition / Creative Artwork \n*A personal laptop with the Adobe Photoshop program installed is required for participating in this workshop.\nThis workshop is suitable for anyone who is preparing a portfolio for admission to Fine and Applied Arts Universities\, for students of relevant disciplines seeking specialization and finally for amateur and professional designers and artists who want to enrich their skills. \nLab duration: 15 hours \nProgram:\n– Tuesday 22/06/21 16.00-19.00\n– Wednesday 23/06/21 16.00-19.00\n– Thursday 24/06/21 16.00-19.00\n– Friday 25/06/21 16.00-19.00 \nThe workshops are delivered by visual artist Stefanos Papadas\nStefanos Papadas is a B.A. in Audio & Visual Arts from Ionian University. He was also awarded a postgraduate scholarship by the Flemish Government in Multimedia Design from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Ghent.\nHe has participated in over 20 group exhibitions and festivals and has collaborated with artistic groups in Greece\, Belgium and Cyprus. His work was presented at the Opera of Ghent\, the Opera of Rotterdam\, the Bozar of Brussels\, the Athens Concert Hall and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Crete. In 2017 he also participated in the 6th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art.
